Terms of Service

Last updated: April 13, 2026

TLDR

  • Ritmiq is in early access. Things may break or change. We'll try to give notice.
  • Your data is yours. Survey questions, responses, and reports belong to your org.
  • We use AI models (Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, etc.) to process responses — all with zero data retention and training disabled. By using Ritmiq, you acknowledge this.
  • Don't survey people without telling them. Don't collect data you shouldn't.
  • We can suspend accounts that abuse the service.
  • Liability is limited to what you've paid us (right now, probably nothing).

And now the boring stuff:

Account terms

To use Ritmiq, you must install the Ritmiq Slack app into a Slack workspace where you have admin permissions. By installing the app, you agree to these terms on behalf of your organization.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Slack workspace and any activity that occurs through the Ritmiq integration. You must be a human — accounts registered by bots or automated methods are not permitted.

Early access disclaimer

Ritmiq is currently in early access. The service is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. Features may change, break, or be removed without prior notice, though we will make reasonable efforts to communicate material changes in advance.

During early access, we may experience downtime, data issues, or unexpected behavior. We appreciate your patience and feedback as we build.

Your data and content

You retain all rights to the data you and your team provide through Ritmiq, including survey questions, responses, conversation messages, and generated reports. We do not claim ownership of your content.

You grant us a limited license to process, store, and transmit your data as necessary to operate the service — including sending it to AI model providers for analysis. All AI providers are configured with zero data retention (ZDR) agreements, meaning your data is not stored by or used to train their models.

We may generate aggregate, anonymized statistics about service usage (e.g., total surveys run, average response rates) that cannot be linked back to your organization. These statistics help us improve the product.

Acceptable use

You agree to use Ritmiq in compliance with all applicable laws. In particular:

  • You must inform survey participants that their responses will be collected and processed.
  • You must not use the service to collect sensitive personal data (health records, financial information, government IDs) unless you have proper authorization and safeguards.
  • You must not use the service to harass, spam, or deceive people.
  • You must not attempt to circumvent access controls, reverse-engineer the service, or interfere with its operation.
  • You must not use the service for any illegal purpose.

Service availability

We strive to keep Ritmiq available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may temporarily suspend the service for maintenance, updates, or security reasons. We will provide advance notice when possible.

IP ownership

Ritmiq and all associated intellectual property (code, design, trademarks, documentation) remain the property of Ritmiq. These terms do not grant you any rights to our IP beyond what is necessary to use the service.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ritmiq's total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. If you have not paid us anything, our liability is zero.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, regardless of whether we were advised of their possibility.

Termination

You may stop using Ritmiq at any time by uninstalling the Slack app from your workspace. To request deletion of your data, email hello@ritmiq.ai.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or if your use of the service poses a risk to other users or our infrastructure. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before or promptly after suspension.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify affected users via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
